You may have heard more on people starting to switch over organic foods only. I know I have, and my family is starting to transition too. Personally, I have never felt a difference during the process of the switching, which made me wonder, are organic foods beneficial?
What is organic food?
Organic food is food that comes from a farming system who doesn’t use anything man-made that affects the foods growth. This can include man-made fertilizers, pesticides, growth regulators or GMO’s. Organic farmlands are run by people who pay close attention to nature. They use fewer chemicals to reduce pollution in the waterways, and in the areas surrounding. Organic farmlands are said to be healthier for animals too since they are required to be kept in natural conditions.
So, are organic foods really healthier?
There has not been enough evidence for scientists to fully prove this, but there is proof that they have more vitamins and minerals. While this is good, there is no consistent evidence to prove this for all organic produce and the number of extra vitamins does not provide significant benefits.
This still doesn’t stop the growing demand for organic foods though, but whether you want to buy organic foods or not is up to you!
