Sarah Buddhason is a senior at Moscrop Secondary School and is ecstatic to be a part of the Year 2 Engineering Stream of Future Science Leaders (FSL) at Science World. Through this program, she has had the opportunity to work alongside equally curious youth, distinguished scientists, and industry professionals to explore the diverse world of STEAM. The friendships and connections she has made at Science World have been invaluable and have given her a comprehensive preview of the career opportunities that are available in the sciences.
The Year 1 program focuses on teamwork-based activities and experiments and emphasizes a predominantly collaborative aspect of science. By entering the second year of FSL, Sarah hopes to acquire skills that can only be gained by taking on an individual project. She especially looks forward to exploring a variety of university-level concepts in FSL’s fast-paced and challenging environment, and to working with her mentors for another year of this program.
In addition to FSL, she devotes much of her time to Model United Nations, debate, and volunteering. At school, she plays for the senior ultimate frisbee team and serves as the Executive Director for the United Nations Connections Club (UNCC), Burnaby’s Model UN and global awareness club. For her final year of Future Science Leaders, Sarah is looking forward to a program filled with creativity, innovation, and collaboration, and is confident that FSL will be an unforgettable experience for everyone!
