Hi, my name is Rand Wang, a grade 10 student from Hugh Mcroberts Secondary (a school in Richmond).
At school, when it comes to science, almost everyone will tell you about how traumatized they are for the upcoming unit test, or just simply avoid talking about scientific subjects in general. As much as I wish I could say that I don’t fall under this stereotype, my gut feeling always tells a different opinion. With that being said, I like to say that I am still a very strongwilled and hardworking person, as this will lead me to find a way to better enhance my point of view in science. This led me to join the Future Science Leaders program. Although I’ve never been the top elite student, I’ve always been a resilient challenger, and I’ve never backed down from a setback. I really want to use the FSL program to prepare me and fuel me through my science courses, and further help me develop a knowledge base for a subject that I am passionate to learn about.
My life inside and outside of school are quite replenished. On top of being the executive of the social justice club at school, and being involved with the student council, I’ve also played volleyball competitively ever since making the school team in grade eight. That being said, I definitely credit a lot of my never ceasing spirit to all the sports that I’ve played growing up, and my active lifestyle.
In conclusion, my life is an ensemble of highs and lows, and I hope you’ve enjoyed learning a little bit more about the life of Rand.
