Blog Post #1: Biography

Hello! My name is Ibreez Asaria, and I am currently a grade 11 IB student at Stratford Hall School in East Vancouver. Some of my hobbies include delegating at and staffing Model UN conferences, playing badminton, volunteering at my mosque and taking photos around Downtown Vancouver. The reason why I applied to the Future Science Leaders Program at Science World was to have a chance to connect with fellow students interested in science, and to work alongside professionals within the field in order to participate in scientific research. I especially wanted to gain insight into how scientific research is conducted at the university and post-graduate level, and how I can one day be involved in this area. In school, my favorite subjects include biology and chemistry, especially looking at immunology and pharmacology, and so I knew this program would allow me to engage in researching some parts of these fields of study. I also love Science World, so I couldn’t miss up a chance to come in and check out the new exhibits and enter exclusive events.

I have loved networking with students all across Vancouver, and I can’t wait to see what is in store for me in the upcoming year! Thank you FSL.
