My name is Daniel. Although I may seem like a normal teenager, there is actually a lot more going on in my life than you might think. I just turned 16, so now I can drive. To help me learn and practice safe driving habits, I am taking a Young Drivers program. I do most of my grade 11 courses online, with a local school called Abbotsford Virtual School. I have been going to AVS my whole school life, but this is my first year where I no longer attend classes in person, as grades 11 and 12 are online only. I do, however, attend a chemistry class at a public school so I can do experiments and have hands-on experiences (and not blow up my mother’s microwave like my brother did years ago). I also am taking part in Future Science Leaders, which is a science program to help students who love science experience topics they don’t cover in a regular secondary school. I enjoy creating models on 3D software, and on the weekends I play some video games and tennis. But when there is snow outside, there is nothing I would rather do than be outdoors. In the future, I hope to become an engineer. But for now, I am going to enjoy life before it gets hectic.
